David Schrittesser is postdoc at the Kurt Gödel Research Center, University of Vienna.
He works in set theory, focusing on descriptive set theory and independence results.
David Schrittesser received his doctorate at the Kurt Gödel Research Center in 2010 under Sy David Friedman. He has previously worked at the University of Bonn (where he was Hausdorff postdoc), and at the University of Copenhagen.

Date: February 15, 2018 (13:3015:00)
Speaker: David Schrittesser
Title: The Ramsey property, MAD families, and their multidimensional relatives
Abstract: Suppose every set of real numbers has the Ramsey property and “uniformization on Ellentuckcomeager sets” as well as Dependent Choice hold (as is the case under the Axiom of Determinacy, but also in Solovay’s model). continue reading…

David Schrittesser – On the Complexity of Maximal Cofinitary Groups
Talk held by David Schrittesser (KGRC) at the KGRC seminar on 20180111.
Abstract: A maximal cofinitary group is a subgroup of the group of permutations of the set of natural numbers $\mathbb N$ such that any group element has only finitely many fixed points, and no strictly larger group of permutations of $\mathbb N$ has this property. continue reading…
David Schrittesser: News on mad families
KGRC Research Seminar – 20170622 at 4pm.
Speaker: David Schrittesser (University of Copenhagen, Denmark)
Abstract: This talk is about two results on mad families (dating from this year): Firstly, in joint work with Karen Bakke Haga and Asger Törnquist and, we link madness of certain definable sets to forcing and use this to show that under the Axiom of Projective Determinacy there are no projective mad families. continue reading…
David Schrittesser: Maximal discrete sets with large continuum
25.01.2016
Seminar room 0.011, Mathematical Institute, University of Bonn
Speaker: David Schrittesser (University of Copenhagen)
Title: Maximal discrete sets with large continuum
Abstract. In recent joint work with Asger Törnquist, we showed how to construct definable maximal discrete sets in forcing extensions of L, in particular in the Sacks and Miller extension. continue reading…
