Thilo Weinert – Cardinal Characteristics and Partition Properties
Talk held by Thilo Weinert (KGRC) at the KGRC seminar on 20180315.
Abstract: Many a partition relation has been proved assuming the Generalised Continuum Hypothesis. More precisely, many negative partition relations involving ordinals smaller than $\omega_2$ have been proved assuming the Continuum Hypothesis. continue reading…
Thilo Weinert: Avoiding Quadruples Using a Scale
BIU seminar in Set Theory
On 08/06/2017, 1012, Building 604, Room 103
Speaker: Thilo Weinert (BGU)
Title: Avoiding Quadruples Using a Scale
Abstract. In 1971, Hajnal showed that the continuum hypothesis implies omega_1^2 > (omega_1^2, 3)^2 and in the same year, together with Erdős, that GCH implies that for every infinite cardinal kappa and every alpha < (kappa^+)^2 we have alpha > (kappa^+ * kappa, 3)^2. continue reading…
Thilo Weinert: Partitioning pairs of sigmascattered linear orders
BIU seminar in Set Theory
On 20/04/2017, 1012, Building 604, Room 103
Speaker: Thilo Weinert
Title: Partitioning pairs of sigmascattered linear orders
Abstract. We are going to continue the analysis of generalised scattered orders, proving the result described towards the end of Chris LambieHanson’s talk. continue reading…

Thilo Weinert: Partition relations for linear orders in a nonchoice context
Monday, November 18, 2013, 16.30
Seminar room 0.011, Mathematisches Institut, Universität Bonn
Speaker: Thilo Weinert (Universität Bonn)
Title: Partition relations for linear orders in a nonchoice context
Abstract: In “Partition Relations for eta_alphaSets”, Erdös, Milner and Rado proved, using the Axiom of Choice, three partition relations which amount to the following: It is possible to partition the triples of any linear order into two classes such that every set of ordertype w* + w(the integers) contains a triple in the first class and every quadruple contains a triple in the second class. continue reading…
